Beach Access

The Villages at Ocean Hill (VOH) has 7 authorized Beach Accesses, 2 from Windance Ln and 5 from Sandcastle Dr.

Beach Accesses are identified on the VOH Brochure (an image of the map appears at the bottom of this screen); a mix of boardwalk and sand dune paths. Two of the beach accesses have community parking lots for exclusive use by Owners and Renters. A parking permit must be displayed on dashboard when using these parking lots (including for golf carts).

Please review the following:

  • Keep off the dunes; walking, climbing, jumping, etc., is prohibited by County Ordinance and violators may be fined by the Sheriff.
    • Note that two beach accesses on Sandcastle Dr are sand paths that cross over steep dunes, which is allowed.
  • Do not damage or remove fences, sea oats or foliage as they help preserve the delicate environment.
  • Take all beach gear back with you at the end of the day; do not leave broken gear or trash on beach. Trash cans are provided at all community parking lots.
  • Keep dogs on leash and pick-up after them; see more at Visit Currituck's Bringing a Pet webpage.
  • Fill in any holes dug in the sand; holes are dangerous to sea turtles, wild horses, and lifeguard and emergency vehicles.
  • A County Beach Lifeguard is located near the beach rental area (see location "F" on the VOH Brochure) during the peak summer season.
To view an interactive map for Beach Access Locations (including parking, lifeguards, ADA accessible, restrooms/showers, elevated ramp, drive-over ramp, air-down station, and wooden walkway), go to Visit Currituck's Beach Access Locations webpage. To learn more about beach driving and parking, go to Visit Currituck's Beach Driving & Parking webpage.

NOTE:  Ocean Hill (our neighboring oceanside community) and VOH are two separate communities. Ocean Hill permits only pedestrian access to the beach through Bismark Dr and Tasman (see map in VOH Brochure) and strictly enforces this policy. Violators are subject to citations from the Sheriff for any trespassing on private property or driving cars/golf carts onto their streets to reach the beach (even just to drop-off people or beach gear). For your benefit and enjoyment, you are encouraged to only use VOH community parking lots and beach accesses identified on the VOH map.
